When I grow up....

Today while driving to the school Max said "I wish I could go to space so I could look back to the earth and see all the blue and green parts. Then I could see if it is just like on the globe". I told Max that if he works real hard in school that he could be an astronaut when he grows up. You can be anything that you want to be if you try real hard and work for it. From the back seat Jamie adds "you could even be a pirate Max! But you would need to get a sword" . After we drive away Jamie keeps adding to the idea saying that he could even be like Peter Pan and fly, or like Captain Hook ( but he would be a good guy). The conversation moves on to that when Jamie grows up he is going to go to the spaceship store and get a rocket so that he can fly into outer space. "The rockets are free, you just have to come and get them...... That's what they said on TV". You gotta love the imagination of 4 year olds!

Como Lake Relay Cheer Team

While we waited for the grade 4 boys to have their turn at racing we went and played on the playground and had a chilly spring time snack outside...... brrrr!

Max and Christopher both had a 'I am soooooo tiered' look on their faces until they came around the corner and saw the mini cheer team clapping, waving and cheering "go Max/Chris go" "you can do it!" and Sophia's favorite "keep going... your halfway there!" (even though we weren't quite at the half way mark). This seamed to give them a second wind as then they would sprint out of our sight.

My personal favorite part about Como Lake is always watching the kids feed the ducks.

Boys in a Box

I tried for some time to capture the play between Jamie and Phoenix today, but they moved so often from doing one thing to the next, that it was tricky. During outside time today the gang was so content to play, roll on the grass, laugh and enjoy being outside in the warm spring sunshine that finding the right moment was easy.

Go puddle jumpers!

Today turned out to be a great day for a hike! the rain cleared up, no wind, warm weather and no crowds! The best part though, was all the huge puddles! We walked from the Library all the way to Rocky Point park, had some play time at the playground, a little snack, and then all the way back!!! Considering how little every ones legs are, that's a long ways to go! Well done my little hikers!

my little helpers

Even though the groundhog said that there would be 6 more weeks of winter, I think he was wrong! In our backyard spring has sprung! This means time to replace what is left of our grass. I have got the most eager helpers out there. When ever I put down my shovel to go help someone one of the kids always goes to have a turn to help. There seams to be a mysterious lure to either the big people shovel or digging in what is suppose to be grass. Not sure what it is, but I love the effort!

Thanks for the help my little friends!

Takin a Break

Today we had our first outside snack of the year! The weather was warm enough to go jumping on Sheri's trampoline while Donna helped Sheri move plants (before the diggers come to start the renovations to her house). We started off with rain pants, boots, hats, gloves ect..... the more they bounced, the more pieces of clothing had to come off! Those little rosy cheeks were a sure sign of spring approaching. Those who didn't jump on the trampoline came and helped dig in the dirt. Both Hazel and Cayane also enjoyed the fallen bits of rice cakes that we left behind.

Christmas Fun

Merry Christmas memories!

Thank you everyone for helping to make this years daycare party a fun time had by all. Thanks also goes out to Nickolas who took all the photos, Chloe who wrapped all the presents, Randall who made the ham, and to all the parents for my "keeping warm in winter" basket. I love it!
