Can you believe that THIS is fall?
Where are the changing leaves? The gloves and extra layers? The never ending wet days? I'm not complaining.... but singing the "autumn leaves are falling down" song at circle time doesn't quite match the kind of morning we had! I LOVE the beach! The kids had a great time throwing rocks into the water, listening to the different sounds they make depending on the size. I love my job!

Pump it up!

Nathan and Drew shoved balls up their sleeves and proceeded to show off their impressive muscles.
I was impressed.... How about you?

Apple time

I think going to the apple farm is one of my most favorite field trips. Not only is it a reminder that fall is fast approaching, but it always has that fresh crispness to the air, the smell of ripe fruit ( and of course the smell from the animals in the barn), and a feeling of change. I am so thankful to have my helper Nickolas who came with us this year. Watching him pull the wagon, pick the "up high" apples, and playing "monster" with the kids brings back so many memories of not only when he was the little kid on the field trip, but also of all the other children who have shared in the experience of getting to go pick your own apples and corn with me.

Kids are so literal

For art this week we did feet painting where the kids ran through paint onto paper, hand painting where we taped a long sheet of paper across the entire length of the fence and they dipped their hands in paint and ran along the fence making hand prints. Well today we traced our bodies onto paper and we were going to "paint ourselves"........

I don't think Rosie quite got what I meant...... she really did "paint herself".....
But ya know, when your messy, you might as well get REALLY messy as long as your having fun!
