I Love adventure days!

One of my favorite parts about working with small children is watching how they love to stop and take note of all the small things in life that we as adults just pass on by. Things like actually stopping our walk to watch a tug boat go by,

Finding treasures along the way.... like a marble,

Noticing how the seaweed makes a funny sound when you squish it....

digging out half buried sea shells and noticing the colors inside....

stopping to watch seagulls fly by....

and being SOOOOOO enthusiastic about the birds!

Ben today spent a lot of time crawling on the wet sand pushing his hands though it... like a bull dozer!

Ethan finally got the hang of throwing the ball for Hazel using the chuck-it-stick..... and then almost hit a man with the ball in the process! I am also so proud of how far my little friend Sam walked today.... all the way to our private beach and most of the way back! that's a long way for little legs!!!!

And even though i told them the sand will be cold.... Kai told me you "have to" have bare feet when you are at the beach!

Happy Leprechaun Day 2014

After working all week on our group art project we are finally ready to catch us a real leprechaun!

 Prepping our bait..... lots and lots of shamrocks 

(actually it's just a four leafed weed as we cold not find any real clovers)

 Setting the trap with the perfect 'y' shaped stick 

Now all we need is for it to be super, super quiet so the reclusive leprechaun can come!

Green cookies for snack of course!

IT WORKED!

The trap has been sprung!!!!

Now all we need to do it close our eyes and wish with all our hearts and shout out "I set you free"

 and voila......

The leprechaun traded his treasure for his release!

all that's left to do is divvy up the loot!

I loved Jasper's reaction to his cool hot wheels car the i picked out for him...."no way..... its like a dream come true.... its the car that i have always wanted"! Ya gotta love his enthusiasm!

Busy Birthdays

 January it seems is a busy birthday month!

This first particular birthday celebration was a little bitter sweet for me..... 

it was someones first daycare party, and someones last.

As I sit and look back at the photos from birthdays past it feels like it was just yesterday that we welcomed Evelyn into our daycare family. Now looking at this girl who looks the same, yet so grown up..... where did the time go?

I can also ask... where did the time go,when the next day we celebrated Nick turning 20!!!

Where did that time go????!!!! I definitely don't feel like the mother of a 20 year old!

Wow.... 20!

At the other end of the daycare spectrum we have our little friend Ben who turned the big one, the day before Nick and Evelyn! Happy birthday there little guy!

The following week we celebrated our friend Lila who turned 2! Its strange to think that she is TWICE as old as Ben! Weird! So much growth and development in such a short period of time!

Christmas 2013

Merry Christmas everyone!

I know this is a little late in posting, but its true when people say "time flies".

I Just want to say a big thank you to all my wonderful daycare families for helping to make this years Daycare Christmas party a great success. It would not be the same without all the wonderful food, gifts help, time and energy that you give! Also thanks for being such awesome parents.... it makes my job that much easier! hope you all had a wonderful Christmas break!
