Happy St. Patricks Day

Happy Green day!

To celebrate St. Patrick's day we made green shamrock cookies...
explored green goo...

and even caught a leprechaun in our trap!

We set him free of course so that he would give us his gold in exchange for his freedom.

February fun

Ahhh.... Valentines Month. I love spreading the thoughts of being kind to our friends throughout the entire month of February.

We made heart shaped cookies, valentines cards and friendship necklaces to give to our friends as part o our February celebrations.

Of course we did loads of pink and purple art during the month of February, even every ones favorite messy art.... shaving cream!

We also celebrated birthdays this month, happy birthday Sophia who is now 9! And happy birthday to our friend Sheri who depending on who you asked she turned; Drew 2, Nathan said 3, Amelia said 9, Layla said "she's not nine, Sophia is nine.... I think she is 21", and phoenix who sat quietly thinking said "no, I think maybe 31". I think you are only as old as you feel on any given day. After all growing old is mandatory, but growing up is always optional!

What a way to say goodbye to February, but with a good snow storm!

Snow fun

Instead of playing outside in our brief white winter wonderland where it has already starting to rain instead of snow, we brought the snow inside to us, where it was much warmer. The kids had a great time making mini snowmen out of the snow that filled the water table. Next they explored what would happen if you tried to paint snow! We added spoons, potato mashers, pancake flippers and measuring cups to the play. It was a great way to explore snow without all the extra clothing and wet cold! We also did a science experiment by bringing inside a snowball to see how long it would take for it to melt. Even I was surprised to see that it took more than 4 hours for it to melt into a bowl full of water!

Happy Birthday Evelyn & Nickolas

Evelyn shares her birthday (the actual day I mean) with both Nickolas and Kimberly.
But having Nickolas sit beside her to share in birthday cupcakes doesn't seem to bother her at all.... she is VERY focused on the blowing out of the candles so she can get to that cupcake! Happy birthday you big two year old, and you BIG 17 year old!
