Wow... how time does fly by! Mr. "Nate the great" turned 4 this month.
I love seeing how excited his friends are throughout the day, looking forward to cupcakes for snack. Hope you had a memorable birthday my little friend!

Happy St. Patricks Day

Leprechaun day is one of my favorite days with the daycare. We talk about our plan to catch a leprechaun as soon as March rolls around. On Tuesday we started making our traps, ensuring that they were sparkly enough to attract a leprechaun. On Friday we walked up to the park to collect shamrocks from the grass to entice the leprechauns to walk into our traps. Unfortunately there were no shamrocks.... but Amelia insisted that the multitude of three petaled weeds were in fact shamrocks. During story time just before nap we all went outside to set our traps, and then we waited......

No St.Patricks day celebration would be complete without shamrock shaped cookies.

Amelia did a great job showing the boys how to spread green icing on the cookies!

By the time Nathan had dipped his knife into the icing and brought it back to the cookie there wasn't much left on his knife to spread.

At the end of nap time we went outside to check our traps, and watching the look on their faces was absolutely priceless! We went outside together and placed both hands on our traps and closed our eyes and said with all our hearts "I SET YOU FREE"....

And sure enough.... there was gold! (As I am sure you all know that when you catch a leprechaun and you set him free, he leaves you his gold.)

I for one was not surprised about actually catching the leprechaun... after all, we were at the end of the rainbow!

Back yard Buddies

Today really did feel like spring! Hanging out in the back yard playing in the sunshine felt SOOOOO good!Today was one of those days when everyone was busy doing things.
Of course having new sidewalk chalk and new bubbles to play with kept everyone busy for quite some time.

Kai and Rosie were really funny today. They played along side each other for most of the outside time. They even spontaneously shared the chalk with one another while sitting in the sunshine.

But the best part was when they were done they both stood up and Rosie leaned in to give Kai a "thanks for being my friend" kiss!

It's moments like this that make your heart melt!

Thanks for being my "back yard buddies"!
