It's not really what it looks like.... The last few times I have changed the dress up clothes the boys have sat and watched Rosie as she raced over to try them all on and see which one twirls best. So one day this week I hear Nate say "do you want to try on the red one and I will try on the purple one?" Mateo reply's "sure... them we can spin and be blayblades"..... so they did! Apparently spinning until one crashes into the other and falls to the floor is what boys DO with dresses!

Happy Birthday Sophie
Happy Birthday my friend Sophie!
One of my favorite parts about working with a small group of young children is watching the excitement they show for their friends on their birthdays. As each child arrived at daycare i would ask them if they remembered what was special about that day and each and every one of them remembered it was Sophie's special day! The part of about their birthdays they makes me shake my head is the fact that i walked up and down the toy isles trying to decide what Sophie would enjoy getting for her birthday, and after MUCH debate i picked out a Polly pocket car toy thing and as an after thought grabbed a bubble wand thing.... the bubble wand thing that I didn't even think about getting her was the favorite part of her gift! She is such a kind and sharing 5 year old that she wanted to go out right away and let everyone have a turn with her new birthday bubbles!
Thanks for sharing your bubbles with everyone Sophie!

Spring??? Really?
This week it was so warm out, that when we went to the beach for a walk, we ended up going in the water.... shoes and all!
It all started with helping rescue a starfish who needed to be put farther out in the water... well that led to checking out crabs... discovering fish... splashing....
and a wonderful day!
Parachute fun
This week we have had incredible sunny weather! So we brought out the parachute that i borrowed from the daycare support group. It was a little big for playing with in the back yard... so we used it to help create shade.... with a twist!
The kids spent at least 20 minutes jumping off the ramp they made and trying to push up on the parachute. By the time they were done everyone had red cheeks and needed a drink break!
I love how a simple piece of circular fabric can be used to do Sooooo many things!
