Child labour?

Is it considered child labour when they ask 502 times 'when can we go help'?
After watching the dump truck deliver our 7yards of engineered wood chips, the kids couldn't wait to start digging and dumping (almost as eager as I was to see an end to "mud land"). We waited until Nick could come help us so we had a big person up at the pile or down in the yard. Some kids actually used a "big bucket" and some used a tea cup to help move the pile into the back yard.

We got a LONG way to go.... two buckets at a time!

GETTIN WET

Even though we have had lots of fun with all the digging, sliding, splashing, quashing and mucking around in the mud as of late.... I can hardly wait to see an end of dirt days!

As many of you may know I have finally made the decision to end the battle with grass! Lets face it... it just doesn't work in my backyard. Between the dog, the sprinkler and the amount of traffic the grass tries to survive through it just cant seem to make it, no matter what kind of turf i have tried. So, while we are in "mud land" i have decided to embrace the dirt and learn to have fun with what we have got.... a lot of mud!

Future doctor?

Is there a doctor in the house? Maybe.....

One of my favorite parts of my job is watching the children play. If you listen close enough you actually CAN hear the gears in their little tiny brains clicking away while they process how things work! It still amazes me at how much young children can take in, process and try in one day! Everyday when I hear parents ask "what did you do today" i feel like the list is SOOOOO long I don't know where to start!
Everyday is such an open adventure filled with opportunities to learn and grow.

snow much fun!

Where did all our snow days go?
Is it really the beginning of February already?
This winter is going by so fast... we are running out of snow day opportunities!
So far this year we have had only a few dusting.... and one sled day (but I was so excited to get to the park, I forgot to bring my camera).
I guess we will have to enjoy it when we can!
